audio walks across Japanese cities. Written to be heard on the street, not read on a screen — the things you'd walk straight past without knowing.

Nothing matches “”. Try a city, a landmark or a neighbourhood — or tell us where you're going below.
How it works
Three steps, then you just walk.
1
Pick a walk.
Every guide starts at a named spot — a gate, a bridge, a station exit. We tell you exactly where to stand before a word of it plays.
2
Headphones in, press play.
Around minutes across five or so stops. It waits for you. Pause it, walk, pick it back up.
3
Look up.
Each stop tells you what to look at before it tells you the story. That's the whole point of doing this with your ears instead of your eyes.
Before you ask
The honest answers.
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once for whatever you want — one guide, one city, or the lot — and you're done. Nothing renews, there's no plan, there's nothing to cancel.
What if I buy one guide and then want the rest?
Whatever you've spent on guides in a city comes off that city's price, and everything you've ever spent comes off the $ everything pass. Starting small costs you nothing extra — you never pay twice for the same walk.
Do I need phone signal on the walk?
Yes, for now. The guides load over the web, so you need a connection — station wifi or a cheap travel eSIM is plenty. Downloading a guide before you set off is the next thing we're building.
What if I lose signal halfway?
Every word is on the page as text as well as audio, so you can read the stop you're standing at.
What language is it in?
English only right now. Japanese and Chinese are next.
What if I don't like it?
Your first guide is free, so you can try the real thing before you pay anything.
Who writes these?
We research from public sources and then a person rewrites every line for the ear. Where a fact is uncertain we say it's approximate instead of inventing a number.
Do I have to do the stops in order?
No. Each one stands on its own.
Will you cover my city?
We started in Japan because that's where the gap between how much there is to know and how little you get told is widest. Tell us where you're going.
